In a deeply unsettling incident that has shaken the Kerala town of Aluva, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been established to probe the rape and murder of a 5-year-old girl. Ernakulam Rural District Police Chief Vivek Kumar confirmed the formation of a robust 14-member team, including SIs, ASIs, and Cyber experts, under the leadership of Aluva’s Deputy Superintendent of Police.
The child, the daughter of migrant workers from Bihar, was heartbreakingly abducted in broad daylight near her residence on July 28. Her lifeless body, bearing the horrifying marks of sexual abuse and physical harm, was found at a local dumping site in Aluva market. Autopsy reports unveiled a terrifying picture of sexual assault, with strangulation identified as the cause of her premature death.
The accused, a 29-year-old man named Asafaq Alam, also hailing from Bihar, has been arrested in connection with this atrocious crime. As the SIT delves into the investigation, CCTV footage are being scrutinized, and a background check on the accused in his native Bihar is ongoing.
Meanwhile, the Kerala Police have publicly expressed their remorse over the tragic incident, issuing a poignant message in Malayalam that translates to “Sorry daughter,” acknowledging their unsuccessful efforts to save the young victim. As this chilling tale of brutality continues to unfold, the nation watches, awaiting justice for the innocent life lost.
