Commercial operations involving Equinor, Saipem, Reach Subsea and Oceaneering International show how robotics could reduce vessel days, personnel exposure and inspection costs, although intervention capability, subsea infrastructure, communications and regulatory acceptance still determine how far vessel-free operations can go.
