Rama Steel Tubes announces major expansion at Khopoli plant in Maharashtra

Rama Steel Tubes Limited (RSTL), a prominent name in the Indian steel industry, has initiated a significant capacity expansion at its Khopoli plant in Maharashtra. This strategic expansion, involving an additional capacity of approximately 40,000 MTPA, represents a key development for the company.

Expansion Details and Timeline

• Location: Khopoli, Maharashtra.
• Capacity Increase: Approximately 40,000 MTPA.
• Completion: Expected by the end of Q4 of FY25, with subsequent commencement of commercial production.
• Facilities: The expansion includes setting up a state-of-the-art cold rolling mill and steel sheet galvanizing facility.
• Investment: The total Capex for this expansion is estimated at around Rs.300 million, funded through internal accruals of RSTL.

He also highlighted the anticipated increase in demand for special grade, high-thickness steel, and RSTL’s readiness to meet this demand efficiently.
