Inflection AI raises $1.3bn to make personal AIs available globally
Artificial intelligence (AI) studio Inflection AI announced a hefty $1.3 billion in funding raised in a recent round led by prominent investors including Microsoft, Reid Hoffman, Bill Gates, Eric Schmidt, and new investor NVIDIA.
This substantial investment bolsters the total funds raised by the Palo Alto-based company to $1.5 billion.
The funds will underpin the development and design of Inflection AI’s pioneering product, Pi, launched in May. Envisioned as a novel class of AI, Pi is engineered to be a kind and supportive companion. It facilitates text and voice conversations, offers friendly advice, and provides concise information in a natural, flowing style.
The company is developing one of the most advanced large language models in collaboration with partners CoreWeave and NVIDIA.
The collaborative venture aims to create the world’s largest AI cluster, boasting 22,000 NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPUs. Inflection AI has made significant strides within just over a year, enabling users to interact seamlessly with Pi, their Personal AI, for fast, relevant, and helpful information and advice.

Inflection AI has already amassed considerable support from investors. A previous funding round in early 2022 garnered $225 million from backers including Greylock, Microsoft, Reid Hoffman, Bill Gates, Eric Schmidt, Mike Schroepfer, Demis Hassabis, Will.i.am, Horizons Ventures, and Dragoneer.
