The Campbell Soup Company has announced a significant $160 million investment into its manufacturing facility in Richmond, Utah, intending to meet the surging consumer demand for its Goldfish crackers. This financial injection will not only boost the bakery’s Goldfish output by 50%, producing an impressive five million crackers per hour, but it also includes the establishment of an onsite flour mill.

“Goldfish is an iconic brand that is quickly approaching a billion-dollar business, and this investment demonstrates our commitment to the growth of our brands and the communities where we operate,” commented Chris Foley, Executive Vice President and President of Campbell Snacks.

An exciting facet of this investment involves the construction of an onsite flour mill, set to be independently owned and operated by Utah Flour Milling, LLC. The mill represents a strategic partnership between PHM Brands’ Panhandle Milling and NIPPN CORPORATION. This mill will offer multiple benefits including increased supply reliability, enhanced capacity for growth, improved plant efficiency, and a notable decrease in the site’s greenhouse gas emissions by removing over 2,200 truckloads annually transporting flour from mill to bakery.

The facility expansion will also spur local job growth. The company, already a significant employer in the Cache Valley region with operations in Richmond and Logan, expects to add more than 80 jobs with this new investment. The bakery, celebrated for producing Pepperidge Farm products for 50 years, was recently acknowledged as a top employer in Northern Utah by the Cache Valley Daily and Cache Valley Media Group.
