Infosys to tap AWS for developing quantum computing capabilities
Infosys said that it has forged a collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) for developing quantum computing capabilities and use cases.
In this regard, the Indian IT company will use Amazon Braket, a fully managed quantum computing service. Using the Amazon service, Infosys will explore and create multiple use cases in quantum computing as part of the cloud offerings of Infosys Cobalt.
Scientists and developers use Amazon Braket to get started with the technology and expedite research and discovery.
Infosys will use the quantum computing service for developing, testing, and evaluating quantum applications on circuit simulators and quantum hardware technologies. The Indian IT giant said that this will help researchers and developers for experimenting and studying complex computational problems as quantum technologies continuously evolve.
Matt Garman — Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Amazon Web Services said: “Quantum Computing is an area of intense research, and a number of businesses around the world are asking about its timeline and the opportunities that it could open. At this stage, it’s important to be aware and evaluate the potential future impact of quantum computing. Infosys, a long-standing for AWS Premier Consulting Partner, has experience in incubating emerging technology solutions.
“We see this collaboration as an important step towards setting the right expectations when discussing business problems with customers where quantum computing could have a role.”
According to Infosys, enterprises will be able to access use cases for quicker experimentation, while exploring how quantum computing can possibly help them in the future in a range of areas, evaluate new ideas and plan adoption strategies for driving innovation.
Infosys’ use of Amazon Braket is aimed at helping businesses ready for a future where business will be impacted by quantum computers.
Ravi Kumar S — President of Infosys said: “Infosys continues to be at the forefront of exploring and bringing new technologies to clients.
