Ascension Seton and Acadia Healthcare have announced a joint venture (JV) aimed at expanding access to behavioral healthcare in Austin, Texas, and its surrounding communities. This significant collaboration focuses on extending the current operations at Cross Creek Hospital and increasing the number of inpatient behavioral beds available in the region.

Expanding Cross Creek Hospital’s Capacity

As part of the venture, Acadia will undertake a 106-bed expansion of the acute behavioral hospital at Cross Creek, elevating the total licensed bed count to 196 upon completion. Ascension Seton Shoal Creek’s inpatient behavioral health associates are set to be employed in the newly constructed expansion, slated to open in late 2024. Furthermore, Ascension Seton will continue managing the Grace Grego Maxwell Mental Health Unit, a pediatric unit focusing on mental health at the Dell Children’s Medical Center.
