Wardwizard Innovations & Mobility bags $1.3bn EVs order in Philippines
Wardwizard Innovations & Mobility Limited (WIML), a prominent manufacturer of electric vehicles (EVs) in India, has achieved a significant milestone by securing an order worth USD 1.29 billion from Beulah International Development Corporation, a leading full-service business integration and EPC firm in the Philippines, backed by RP Connect.
Expanding Global Footprint in Electric Mobility
This order encompasses a comprehensive range of electric vehicles from WIML’s existing portfolio, including two-wheelers, three-wheelers in both commercial and passenger segments, and a new development of four-wheelers for commercial uses. This deal aligns with the strategic collaboration between the two companies, aimed at revolutionizing public transportation in the Philippines with advanced electric vehicle technology.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Mr. Shreyas Kurhekar, Head of Production and Business Development (Exports) at WIML, and Ms. Nadia Arroyo, President of Beulah International Development Corporation, in the presence of esteemed members from both organizations. This partnership signifies a robust commitment to enhancing public transport in the Philippines with sustainable and innovative solutions.
Aligning with the Philippine Government’s Modernization Program
The collaboration is part of the Philippine Government’s Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP), which aims to replace outdated petrol and diesel vehicles with modern electric alternatives. Yatin Gupte, Chairman & Managing Director of Wardwizard Innovations & Mobility Limited, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating: “We would like to thank Beulah International and RPConnect for showcasing their trust in our technology and robust product portfolio. This opportunity will allow us to introduce our cutting-edge electric 2W Scooters, and develop 3W e-Trike (D+10), e-Trike (D+3 Passenger), e-Trike (D+5), e-Trike Cargo, Electric Mini Truck (1.5 Ton) and Golf Carts (6 & 14 seater) for the Philippines market.”
Nadia Arroyo also highlighted the economic benefits of this partnership, emphasizing that it will not only transform public transportation but also create new job opportunities and support the local economy over the next decade.
This substantial order positions WIML as a pivotal player in the global electric vehicle market, especially in the Asia-Pacific region. By fulfilling such a large-scale demand for electric vehicles, WIML not only supports the environmental goals of the Philippine Government’s initiative but also showcases the potential for Indian EV manufacturers to lead on a global scale.
