VettaFi acquires thematic index solutions provider EQM Indexes

VettaFi, a leader in indexing, data & analytics, and digital distribution in asset management, has announced its acquisition of EQM Indexes, a prominent provider of custom thematic index solutions. The acquisition expands VettaFi’s family of indexes, now powering nearly $19 billion in ETFs and other investment vehicles, including direct indexing where EQM has a strong track record.

VettaFi CEO Expresses Enthusiasm Over the Deal

The acquisition follows VettaFi’s previous purchase of the ROBO Global Index suite earlier this year, making EQM Indexes the second significant indexing firm to join VettaFi in 2021.

EQM Indexes: A Snapshot

EQM Indexes, co-founded by Jane Edmondson and Dan Janowiak, specializes in a quantitative, research-driven approach to index design. The firm offers a variety of thematic investments, covering sectors such as online retail, blockchain technology, and the global music industry. Additionally, it provides income-generating solutions and caters to advisors and investment managers across North America, Europe, and Australia.
