Affiliates of Bain Capital and Hellman & Friedman have wrapped up their previously announced $17 billion acquisition of athenahealth, a US-based healthcare technology firm, from Veritas Capital and Evergreen Coast Capital.

The deal was announced in November 2021.

athenahealth caters to medical groups and health systems across the US with cloud-based enterprise software solutions.

athenahealth is said to partner with over 140,000 ambulatory care providers across 120 plus specialties to boost clinical efficiency, enhance patient care outcomes, optimize financial performance, and support in expediting their transition towards value-based care.
