Motorola Solutions enhances security portfolio with acquisition of Silent Sentinel

Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI) has announced the acquisition of Silent Sentinel, a United Kingdom-based provider of specialized, long-range cameras. This strategic move enhances Motorola Solutions’ video security portfolio by integrating Silent Sentinel’s advanced, rugged thermal cameras, known for their clear visibility and highly accurate detection capabilities in harsh and extreme environments.

Silent Sentinel’s cameras are designed to withstand the most challenging conditions, making them ideal for military, aviation, maritime, and critical infrastructure applications. With the ability to detect anomalies from up to 20 miles away, these cameras extend the security perimeter, enabling faster and more informed responses to threats.

Mahesh Saptharishi, executive vice president and chief technology officer at Motorola Solutions, emphasized the value of long-range cameras in enhancing security and operational insights. “With Silent Sentinel, we’re broadening our video security portfolio to help secure and support essential operations and industries around the world,” he stated.
