Vedanta Aluminium, an Indian producer of aluminum, has brought in robotic process automation (RPA) within its commercial department, making it the first company in the mining and metals industry in India to implement hyperautomation of the entire commercial process.
With numerous large-scale plant operations, an extensive customer base and a vast suppliers’ network, Vedanta Aluminium’s commercial division is said to have a crucial role to generate potential value for the business.
The implementation of robotic process automation within the business’ commercial activities will increase the commercial maturity index of Vedanta Aluminium through the standardization of procedures through efficient inventory management and the proper collection of demand. This will boost productivity of employees and introduce considerable agility into the methods of working.

By utilizing software robots to take over human efforts in the execution of routine, repetitive tasks and making them touchless efficient and paperless, the aluminum producer hopes to make the processes of its commercial department more efficient smooth, consistent and seamless.
Vedanta Aluminium will also be able to provide the business access to a wealth of information through monitoring different parameters in real-time, which will aid in speedier decisions on crucial business-related parameters.
The robotic process automation project was implemented in partnership together with Crave Infotech, a technology company with deep experience in SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), Industry 4.0, Digital Supply Chain, and Enterprise Mobility Enablement with quick-to-deploy Intelligent Asset Management, Warehouse Management, and Supply Chain Management solutions.
