In a shocking turn of events, deadly missile strikes descended upon the unsuspecting city of Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine, leaving at least five dead including an innocent 10-year-old child. Ukraine’s emergency services, in an announcement on Monday (July 31), revealed the horrific consequences of this brutal attack.

In a chilling video released by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, smoke was seen ominously billowing from what once stood as a multi-storey building. Reports swirling around suggest that a four-story building has been virtually wiped off the map.

In the wake of the attack, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko hinted at only two casualties initially, but the numbers have since skyrocketed. The minister revealed a harrowing scenario of people buried under rubble, as the general prosecutor’s office reports a staggering number of wounded individuals, with children among them. The terrifying reality unfolded as emergency services updated the death toll and reported that the wounded count had surpassed 40.

Deputy head of Zelensky’s office, Oleksiy Kuleba, pointed out that Ukraine’s cities have been facing the wrath of what he deemed as “Russian terrorists” every day. He painted a grim picture of despair and defeat consuming the Russian Federation as they resort to targeting civilians.

The horror was not limited to Kryvyi Rih. Andrii Yermak, the head of the Ukrainian President’s Office, disclosed the disturbing news of Russian shelling on the city of Kherson, resulting in more death and destruction. The enemy forces relentlessly hit residential areas, with the Korabelny district and the central part of the city suffering the most.

Oleksandr Prokudin, the chief of the Kherson region military administration, attributed this wave of intense shelling to the rotation of enemy troops on the Dnipro river’s left bank. He revealed that Russia had bolstered its forces that were previously decimated by Ukraine’s Armed Forces.

Adding fuel to the fire, Russia’s Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu confirmed Moscow’s intensified strikes on Ukrainian military infrastructure in retaliation to attacks on Russian-controlled territory. He insinuated that Kyiv has shifted its focus to conducting terrorist attacks on civilian infrastructure, leading to Russia ramping up its strikes against Ukrainian military facilities.
