Tension headaches

Tension headaches are the most common type of headaches associated with stress. Persons involved in continuous work without proper rest, people working with computers, lab technicians working with microscopes, welders, people working in factories with a lot of noise and sound are some of the people most affected with this type of headaches. Some times this is seen in patients affected with depression.

Tension headaches symptoms

  • Stiffness of the neck muscles and pain in the neck region
  • Throbbing pain in the head and eyes
  • Loss of sleep (Insomnia)
  • The feeling of loss of energy
  • It is seen usually in the morning in people who have no sleep in the night

Tension headaches treatment:

Analgesics are usually sufficient to get relief. Rest and keeping away from the noise and the causative factors help to get rid of the headache. Relaxation exercises, meditation, morning walk and hearing to melodious music helps in getting good relief. If the headache lasts long for more than 24 hours it is better to seek medical advice.
