Tech Mahindra selected as digital transformation partner by TANESCO

Tech Mahindra has been selected by Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO), an integrated electricity utility, for helping the latter in its digital transformation.

In this connection, Tech Mahindra will help TANESCO to reach a position to support future ready applications such as geo information system, IT infra/network, while boosting agility and returns on investment with the technology-driven transformation.

“We are committed to support TANESCO in their digital transformation journey. The deal is aimed at significantly enhancing TANESCO’s digital readiness, and thereby reducing their cost of ownership by automating aspects of their application and infrastructure solutions.

TANESCO is involved in power generation, transmission, and distribution in Tanzania.

Currently, the Tanzanian power utility is transforming itself into a digital enterprise, deploying the full spectrum of technology.

Under the ‘Design Supply, Installation, Implementation, Training and Commissioning of Corporate Management System (CMS) and Supporting Infrastructure,” Tech Mahindra will implement SAP S4 Hana, Esri GIS, SAP Billing, Huawei Infrastructure, and other digital solutions as well as new edge solutions like drones. These are expected to enhance operational efficiency, make service quality better, and improve customer experience for TANESCO.

As part of the partnership, Tech Mahindra will concentrate on providing increased flexibility across digital IT operations, which includes modernization of core operations and internal applications to fuel innovation and expedite the digital transformation journey of the Tanzanian power utility.
