Tata Motors reinvents commercial trucking with advanced Turbotronn 2.0 engine technology

In a significant advancement for India’s commercial vehicle sector, Tata Motors, the nation’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, unveiled its latest innovation – the Turbotronn 2.0 engine. This technologically advanced engine is set to redefine excellence in the trucking industry, offering unmatched fuel efficiency and reliability. Designed and developed indigenously, the Turbotronn 2.0 is engineered to power Tata trucks ranging from 19 to 42 tonnes, catering to a wide array of applications across various segments, notably e-commerce, logistics, parcel, and courier services.

The Turbotronn 2.0, a 5-litre turbocharged diesel engine, is notable for its versatility and efficiency, available in multiple states of tune between 180 and 204 PS. It boasts a flatter torque curve ranging from 700 to 850 Nm, ensuring superior drivability. Key features include longer oil drain and service intervals of up to 1 lakh km, contributing to reduced Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and increased vehicle uptime for higher revenue generation. Fully compliant with BS6 Phase 2 emission norms, this engine is platform-agnostic, compatible with Tata’s Signa, Ultra, LPT, and cowl platforms, and comes with a comprehensive 6-year/6 lakh km warranty.

In a testament to its reliability and efficiency, the Turbotronn 2.0-powered Tata Ultra T.19 embarked on a 30-day endurance run along the Golden Quadrilateral, setting nine records in both the India Book of Records and the Asia Book of Records.
