Southwest Gas expands Great Basin project to $2.3bn as 1 Bcf/d demand reshapes growth plan
Southwest Gas Holdings has secured binding commitments for approximately 1 Bcf/d on its Great Basin 2028 Expansion Project in Nevada. The larger pipeline could generate up to $300 million of annual incremental margin, but its rising capital cost, federal approval process and financing requirements will test whether contracted demand translates into attractive shareholder returns.
