Scatec completes $590m Obelisk solar-storage project as Egypt becomes its next 4GW growth test
Scatec has completed the 1.125GW Obelisk solar project and its 100MW/200MWh battery system in Egypt, converting a $590 million construction programme into 25 years of contracted generation. The bigger question is whether the financing and ownership structure can become a repeatable template for Scatec’s much larger Egyptian pipeline.
