PM Modi announces vision for India’s economic surge, launches Vishwakarma Yojana
In a sweeping address to the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, from the iconic Red Fort, declared India’s vision for a global resurgence. Standing confidently for his 10th consecutive speech, he extended “Modi ki guarantee” promising India’s rise to the world’s third-largest economy in the coming five years.
In a prelude to the general elections, the PM radiated confidence that the BJP-led NDA government will once again secure its position at the Centre. He assured the nation that he will be back on August 15, the following year, cataloging the nation’s progress. However, the Opposition countered, labeling the speech as an exaggeration laden with “distortions, lies, and vague promises.”
Showcasing a commitment to India’s artisans, PM Modi unfurled the Vishwakarma Yojana, a robust scheme championing traditional skill holders. With a proposed budget between ₹13,000 to ₹15,000 crores, this initiative aims to uplift livelihoods, primarily benefiting the OBC community, and is set for a grand launch on Vishwakarma Jayanti on September 17.

The PM emphatically addressed the nation on the imperatives of “suchita, pardarshita, and nishpakshta” (probity, transparency, and impartiality). Pointing out the dangers of dynastic politics, he stressed the importance of sidelining practices that prioritize familial gains over national interests.
Spotlighting the transformative years ahead, Modi reinforced his commitment to catapult India into unparalleled growth. He starkly addressed systemic issues like corruption, emphasizing the importance of combating these “evils” for a developed India.
The PM further highlighted the significance of the ensuing five years, terming it as the “Amrit Kaal,” a pivotal era with lasting implications for the next millennium. India’s trio of strengths – demography, democracy, and diversity – was highlighted as the nation’s core potential.
In his elaborate 90-minute speech, Modi’s tone was that of a resolute leader. He spoke of a “new India,” one that’s confident, resolute, and unfaltering in its vision. “India does not stop, does not tire, does not falter, and does not lose,” he pronounced. The PM’s poetic verses echoed this sentiment, reinforcing India’s unwavering spirit.
The grandeur of the event saw attendance from political stalwarts, including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, and more. Decorations also showcased the G-20 logo, pointing to India’s global positioning.
Post his address, in a heartwarming gesture, the PM mingled with school children, NCC cadets, and special attendees, celebrating the 77th Independence Day with the future torchbearers of the nation.
