Nokia advances digital transformation with Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM implementation
In a significant stride towards digitalization, Nokia has taken a monumental step by deploying Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM). This strategic move aims to consolidate and simplify the company’s Human Resources (HR) operations by integrating 14 different HR applications into a single cloud-based platform. The initiative, part of Nokia’s broader company-wide digital transformation program, will centralize HR processes for its vast workforce of over 80,000 employees spread across 115 countries. The adoption of Oracle Cloud HCM introduces a new HR platform, NokiaME, which is set to replace multiple on-premises systems previously utilized at different business units or country levels, streamlining over 100 HR processes into one integrated HR management system.
Lisbeth Nielsen, Head of People Business Services at Nokia, emphasized the significance of NokiaME’s rollout, stating, “The rollout of NokiaME represents a significant step towards a new era of HR at Nokia. It delivers a true digital transformation, spanning all of our HR functions and positively impacting the experience of our entire global workforce.” This transition reflects Nokia’s commitment to enhancing the employee experience through digital means, offering a seamless and intuitive employee journey from hiring to retirement.
Oracle Cloud HCM is designed to improve the employee experience drastically, offering better workforce insights and a consistent HR management approach throughout the organization. By leveraging the Oracle platform, Nokia can introduce increased automation and self-service processes, thereby reducing manual administration and boosting employee productivity. Moreover, with AI embedded in HR processes and the addition of hundreds of new capabilities each quarter, Oracle Cloud HCM enables Nokia to stay at the forefront of innovation and best practices in HR management.
Cormac Watters, Executive Vice President, Applications, EMEA, at Oracle, highlighted the strategic importance of this implementation, “At a time when talent has become a key differentiator for businesses, Oracle supports Nokia’s goal of putting employee care, and the employee experience, at the center of their growth and leadership strategy.” By consolidating all HR data on a single platform, Nokia’s HR teams gain access to a unified source of truth, thereby improving decision-making and strategizing capabilities.
The implementation of Oracle Cloud HCM at Nokia is managed by Tata Consultancy Services, a member of the Oracle PartnerNetwork. Vikram Karakoti, Global Head, Enterprise Solutions at TCS, pointed out the immediate benefits of this transition for Nokia’s HR and employee experience, marking a milestone in Nokia’s journey towards holistic digital transformation.
In summary, Nokia’s deployment of Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM underlines the company’s dedication to digital innovation and employee-centric practices. By simplifying and centralizing HR processes on a global scale, Nokia sets a precedent for leveraging cloud technology to foster a more engaged, productive, and satisfied workforce. This strategic move not only enhances Nokia’s operational efficiency but also strengthens its position as a leader in adopting advanced digital solutions for HR management.
