Larsen & Toubro, Microsoft to develop cloud offering for regulated sectors

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Microsoft India for developing a regulated sector-focused cloud offering to help customers with cloud computing and infrastructure services.

The two parties, by keeping in mind the emerging regulations, expect to co-engage with a defined group of large customers in regulated sectors to build architectures and roadmaps for modernizing their conventional data centers to potentially hybrid models and advance their goals in digital transformation.

As per the MoU, Larsen & Toubro and Microsoft India will establish a joint governance group for defining future platform designs, commercial/business models, and investments to serve the emerging technology needs of regulated sectors. Senior leadership teams of both firms will be collectively engaged on this as the partnership evolves.

Under the present norms, the MoU will be focusing on engaging customers in the Indian jurisdiction, with the possibility to expand the partnership to other jurisdictions in the future, as agreed between the two parties.
