Gurobi Optimization acquires October Sky, strengthens position in decision intelligence technology
Gurobi Optimization, a portfolio company of Thompson Street Capital Partners (TSCP) and a decision intelligence technology provider, has announced the acquisition of Japan-based October Sky, a provider of mathematical optimization services and custom solutions.
The terms of the acquisition have not been made public.
This strategic acquisition marks a significant milestone in the expansion and growth of both companies. As the sole distributor of Gurobi Optimizer in Japan, October Sky has maintained a solid and collaborative partnership with Gurobi for over 13 years. The combination of Gurobi and October Sky’s skills and knowledge will further equip clients from different sectors to tackle complex business challenges more efficiently.
Established in February 2010, October Sky has led the industry in offering products, consulting services, and training specializing in mathematical optimization technology. The fusion of Gurobi Optimization and October Sky is expected to streamline collaboration, allowing for the exchange of best practices, expertise, and resources to develop solutions that cater to the evolving demands of their customers.
