GE HealthCare, Hartford HealthCare extend collaboration to advance medical imaging and technology
In a significant move that underscores the commitment to enhancing healthcare delivery, GE HealthCare (Nasdaq: GEHC) and Connecticut-based Hartford HealthCare have announced the extension of their collaboration through 2030. This partnership, which initially began in 2016, is set to advance Hartford HealthCare’s mission of providing personalized, coordinated quality care. The seven-year renewal aims to leverage the latest in medical technology, pharmaceutical diagnostics, and digital solutions to improve patient outcomes.
The renewed Care Alliance between GE HealthCare and Hartford HealthCare is designed to assist in increasing access to innovative medical technologies while aiming to decrease the overall cost of care for patients. A phased approach will be employed in the acquisition, deployment, and redeployment of critical imaging technology, including CT, PET/CT, MRI, X-ray, nuclear medicine, mammography, ultrasound, and OEC 3D surgical imaging C-arm. This strategy ensures that Hartford HealthCare’s imaging technologies remain at the forefront of software, artificial intelligence, and future innovations.

The collaboration will see the integration of tested AI and machine learning software across new imaging systems. Innovations such as the Critical Care Suite 2.0, Deep Learning Image Reconstruction, and AIR™ Recon DL will augment clinical expertise, offering AI-powered insights and analytics for real-time medical image analysis. These advancements aim to expedite diagnosis, optimize treatment decisions, and ultimately, enhance patient outcomes.

Under the renewed service agreement, GE HealthCare technicians will provide in-house repair and maintenance for all equipment within the collaboration’s scope. Regular upgrades will ensure that Hartford HealthCare’s imaging technology fleet is optimized, focusing on patient safety and maximizing equipment performance and longevity. The collaboration will also facilitate build-in-place upgrades for existing MRI, CT, PET/CT, and X-ray systems, aiming to refresh older systems with fewer construction costs and minimal disruption to patient care.
