Food technology company GrubMarket acquires Pacific Farm Management

US food technology company GrubMarket has wrapped up the acquisition of Pacific Farm Management (PFM), a farm management services company, based in Madera, California.

The financial terms of the deal were not revealed.

Pacific Farm Management (PFM) offers agricultural employment (payroll) and workers compensation insurance services in California. The farm management services company also has a presence in Arizona and Oregon.

The company’s team is said to be made up of experienced field personnel, safety compliance officers, financial leaders, and a human resources team.

Mike Xu – CEO of GrubMarket said: “Since its inception in 2014, PFM has experienced exponential growth while maintaining sustainability. This acquisition enables GrubMarket to further deepen its software domain knowledge in the areas of staffing, payroll and insurance, and broaden the capabilities supported by our software.

“It will also significantly strengthen GrubMarket’s connection and sourcing network with farms on the West Coast.

Pacific Farm Management has more than 2,500 year-round employees and 3,500 at peak. The company covers a range of crops and offers full-service farm labor, temporary or seasonal staffing along with outsourced payroll and personnel services to farms across the three US states.

Additionally, the farm management services company offers pesticide application along with field development services. It plants more than 10,000 acres of nut crops and vines annually and also handles entire farms for its clients.
