Comporium to extend multi-gigabit broadband services to rural York County
In a significant step towards enhancing digital connectivity in rural areas, Comporium has announced the completion of a substantial project that brings multi-gigabit broadband speeds to additional homes and businesses in York County. With an investment of nearly $778,000, 186 addresses in the western parts of York County, specifically in the Timbers neighborhood and around Bate Harvey Rd. in Clover, now have access to Comporium’s advanced fiber-based services. This expansion not only underscores Comporium’s commitment to digital inclusion but also highlights the pivotal role of strategic partnerships and funding in bridging the digital divide in rural communities.
The project entailed the construction of more than 8 miles of fiber optic network, enabling customers in these newly connected areas to access internet speeds of up to five gigabits per second.
