Bharti Airtel bolsters network connectivity in rural Madhya Pradesh
Bharti Airtel, a leading telecommunications service provider in India, has announced a significant enhancement of its network in the Sehore district, underscoring its commitment to improve connectivity in rural areas. The company has deployed additional sites across 973 villages in the district, aiming to serve an estimated rural population of 11.35 lakh. This network enhancement will benefit customers in the tehsils of Ashta, Budni, Sehore, Ichhawar, and Nasrullaganj, offering them seamless access to high-speed connectivity for work, study, and entertainment purposes.
The initiative is part of Airtel’s broader strategy to densify its network in rural regions, ensuring reliable mobile network coverage that supports both current and emerging connectivity needs. In 2024 alone, Airtel has significantly increased its capital expenditure in the state to enhance network connectivity, delivering a seamless experience on 4G, 5G, Broadband, and Fiber networks.
This network expansion is not limited to Sehore but extends across Madhya Pradesh, including key regions like Indore, Dewas, Shajapur, Ujjain, Rajgarh, Hoshangabad, Gwalior, Rewa, Satna, and Bhopal. By doing so, Airtel aims to empower rural communities with the high-speed connectivity that has become indispensable in today’s digital age.
Furthermore, Airtel’s rural enhancement project is a nationwide effort, with plans to augment network connectivity across 60,000 villages by 2024. Madhya Pradesh, in particular, has seen significant network coverage expansion, with over 5,000 villages now under Airtel’s connectivity umbrella. This initiative underscores the company’s focus on enhancing digital access in rural and unconnected areas, reinforcing its commitment to bridging the digital divide.
