Bain & Company, a top-tier global management consultancy, has successfully transitioned to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition for its core financials across 40 countries. This shift is a critical component of Bain & Company’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) modernization project, which began in 2020 to address its growth challenges and the complex integration of its acquired entities.
The migration to SAP’s cloud-based ERP solution marks a significant milestone for Bain & Company, which has been experiencing substantial growth both organically and through acquisitions. This growth necessitated a shift from manual and localized processes to a more unified and streamlined approach. “SAP S/4HADNA Cloud Public Edition was the best ERP option to meet our needs because of its standard processes, latest industry best practices, and continuously delivered innovation,” stated Ramesh Razdan, Chief Information Officer at Bain & Company.
Having completed their first fiscal year-end close on the new platform, Bain & Company reports a satisfying outcome, with the new system supporting their expansion and operational needs efficiently. “We’ve already completed our first year-end close on SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition and are very pleased with the results we’ve seen,” Razdan added, highlighting the significant value expected to emerge from this technological investment in the coming years.
Bain & Company utilized its in-house ERP transformation teams alongside its digital transformation expertise to spearhead what they describe as a “business-led” technology overhaul. This comprehensive initiative included significant investments in change management and training to ensure their global workforce was equipped to fully leverage the capabilities of SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
With the ERP system now live globally, Bain & Company enjoys a standardized core that facilitates faster, more informed decision-making and reduces manual labor through automation. This setup not only expedites the onboarding of new acquisitions but also ensures smoother ERP upgrades and continual innovation. Scott Russell, Chief Revenue Officer and Member of the Executive Board of SAP SE, commented on the partnership: “We are delighted to support them in their journey to the cloud so that they are poised to continue transforming their business as well as the businesses of our joint customers.”
