Ascend Wellness buys four Nature’s Medicines and True Wellness dispensaries

Cannabis operator Ascend Wellness Holdings (AWH) has completed the previously announced $19 million acquisition of four Nature’s Medicines and True Wellness licensed dispensaries in Maryland from Devi Holdings.

The four operating dispensaries are located in Aberdeen, Ellicott City, Crofton, and Laurel.

Ascend Wellness Holdings announced the deal in January 2023 in a move to foray into its seventh US state. The deal also enables the cannabis operator to develop its presence in limited license states in the US Midwest and East Coast.

Abner Kurtin — Ascend Wellness Holdings Executive Chairman and Founder said: “We are thrilled to officially operate in Maryland, a state on the verge of adult-use and home to more than six million people.

“We are looking forward to the start of adult-use sales in the state, which we expect to commence in July 2023, following Governor Moore’s signature of the legislation.”
