Comtech scores $30m contract to boost US Army tactical communications

Comtech Telecommunications Corp has been granted a $30 million contract by Fairwinds Technologies, to provide its next-generation Troposcatter Family of Systems (FOS) for the US Army’s tactical communications.

This partnership will enhance the Army’s Beyond-Line-of-Site (BLOS) communication abilities across various domains.

As the provider of the most deployed Troposcatter communication systems globally, Comtech Telecommunications’ FOS will be seamlessly integrated with other communication systems, thus offering integrated, resilient, and adaptable network architectures to the US Army. These architectures can notably improve situational awareness in almost all environments.

Comtech Telecommunications’ defense and security technologies, which include its next-generation Troposcatter FOS, aim to deliver integrated communication capabilities that will enhance Combined Joint All Domain Command and Control (CJADC2) operations. The company has a strong track record in developing and deploying robust, resilient, and interoperable communication systems and services for all U.S. Department of Defense branches and coalition forces.

The Troposcatter FOS developed by Comtech Telecommunications are optimally positioned to support military operations, emergency communication restoration events, disaster response situations, and other government and commercial applications.
