Zehnder to take 75% stake in French ventilation company Caladair

The Zehnder Group, a Swiss provider of indoor climate solutions, has agreed to acquire a 75% stake in Caladair, a French ventilation company, for an undisclosed price.

With the deal, Zehnder is said to expand its ventilation product portfolio by including large-scale units for commercial buildings as well as multi-family houses.

Established in 1979, Caladair is engaged in developing, manufacturing, and selling energy-efficient ventilation and thermodynamic systems, mainly for commercial buildings.

The company has a workforce of 80 and had recorded sales of nearly €10 million in 2020, of which one third had come from outside France.

Caladair will continue its operations from its current location under the management of the incumbent managing director, who has retained a minority share of 25%.

Zehnder said that it will see Caladair ventilation products through established sales channels in its various markets, while exploiting further synergies

Subject to customary closing conditions, the deal is expected to close in the coming weeks.
