Wipro appoints Anup Purohit as its new chief information officer
Indian IT services company Wipro Limited has appointed Anup Purohit as its new chief information officer.
According to Wipro, Anup Purohit has more than 25 years of experience in banking and financial services, which are centered around innovation in digital banking, financial management, portfolio and program management, business solutions and service delivery, risk and controls, and information security.
His most recent role was as the CIO of Yes Bank, where he is said to have spearheaded business technology transformation and also digital innovation strategy for introducing future technology into the bank’s current technology stack.
Before his stint with Yes Bank, Anup Purohit had leadership roles in financial institutions such as RBL, Barclays and JPMC, where he took care of building agile, robust, resilient, and scalable technology platforms and processes, IT infrastructure solutions and service delivery.
Anup Purohit said: “I am excited with the opportunity of joining Wipro and playing a role in the transformation journey. I look forward to draw from my prior experience and knowledge, and endeavor to guide businesses as they move forward in the new digital world.”

Now as chief information officer of Wipro Limited, he will report to Sanjeev Singh, the company’s chief operations officer.
