Infosys helps Oman’s BankDhofar complete modernization program

Infosys said that it has helped Omani banking group BankDhofar complete a three-phase modernization program by utilizing Infosys Finacle digital banking suite.

Wrapped up ahead of schedule, the modernization program had covered digital transformation of the core banking platform, digital channels and branches of the Omani bank. This was done in line with its ambition of becoming a digital-first entity, and the best bank in the Gulf when it comes to customer experience.

Phase 1 saw BankDhofar modernize its branches with the help of Infosys’ customer-centric digital transformation studio for simplifying banking and boosting customer experience.

The second phase involved the implementation of a digital channels modernization program. This saw an upgrade of the existing Finacle Online Banking application for retail as well as corporate banking, said Infosys.

BankDhofar also deployed the Finacle Digital Engagement Hub as a platform for offering integrated, contextual, and customized digital banking services across channels. The Omani bank redesigned customer-facing processes to enable the transition to digital as well.

In the third phase of the modernization program, the entire back-end technology infrastructure of the bank was revamped with the upgrade of Finacle Treasury, Finacle Payments, and Finacle Core Banking platforms to Finacle 11.

Last month, Infosy’ subsidiary — Infosys Public Services bagged a legacy modernization contract from Canada-based Manitoba Public Insurance.
