ThredUp to set up $70m distribution center in Lancaster, Texas

ThredUp, a California-based online consignment and thrift store, is setting up a flagship distribution center in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with an investment of $70 million to expand its operations in , .

The fashion resale platform said that the new 10 million item distribution center will create 2,000 jobs, as per an announcement made in late September 2021.

To be spread over an area of 600,000sft, the new distribution facility in Lancaster will support the rising demand for secondhand apparel, said the retailer.

After its completion, it is expected to be the largest and most automated distribution center for ThredUp. The four-level facility will double the total capacity of the secondhand apparel retailer to 16.5 million items.

The new ThredUp distribution center in Lancaster will allow the company to scale its operating platform further as more consumers resell their clothing.
