Technip Energies wins contract from IOCL for Paradip petrochemical complex
Technip Energies (PARIS:TE) has been awarded a significant contract, valued between €50 million and €250 million, by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL). This contract encompasses the license, basic engineering design package, proprietary equipment, catalyst supply, and related services for the Paradip naphtha cracker unit (PDNCU), a new segment of the grand-scale petrochemical complex at Paradip, India.
The newly awarded petrochemical complex will be seamlessly integrated with the existing 15 million tons/year refinery at Paradip, which is one of the four proposed Petroleum, Chemicals & Petrochemical Investment Regions in India. The project will feature a world-scale cracker unit along with downstream process units that will produce various petrochemical products.
In addition to the naphtha cracker technology, Technip Energies will provide vital proprietary equipment, including its advanced separation trays technology known as Ripple Tray and necessary catalysts. This equipment is essential for the efficient and effective production processes planned for the complex.
Bhaskar Patel, Senior Vice President of Sustainable Fuels, Chemicals & Circularity at Technip Energies, remarked on the contract, stating, “We are once again delighted to be entrusted by Indian Oil Corporation Limited for their mega cracker project in Paradip. Our proven ethylene technology and legacy work on mega crackers are important differentiators for our clients. We look forward to delivering this significant project which illustrates our commitment to India.”
The strategic selection of Technip Energies for this expansive project underscores their renowned capabilities and the trust they have earned in large-scale petrochemical projects. The integration of proprietary technologies like the Ripple Tray indicates a focus on innovative and efficient production methods, aligning with global trends towards more sustainable and advanced manufacturing processes.
