Tata Power Solar bags $162m EPC order from NTPC for 320MW solar power project

Tata Power Solar has bagged an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) order from NTPC worth about INR 12 billion ($162 million) for a 320MW solar power project.

NTPC has issued a letter of award (LoA) to Tata Power Solar for the grid-connected solar power project, which is slated to enter into commercial operation in May 2022.

Tata Power Solar will be responsible for land acquisition, engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning of the ground mounted solar photovoltaic project.

The contract, which is on a turnkey basis, also has a three-year commitment for operations and maintenance services for the solar power plant, system for evacuating power, and telemetry up to the interconnecting the substation of the state transmission utility.

With the new EPC order, Tata Power Solar’s order pipeline has reached almost 4GW with the contracts having a total value of about INR 120 billion ($1.65 billion).
