Tata Power installs EV fast charging points for Indian Army in Delhi

Tata Power has announced a partnership with the Indian Army for installing 17 fast charging points for electric vehicles (EVs) at half a dozen sites in the Delhi Cantonment.

According to Tata Power, an EV charging point at the Taurus Station Canteen in the area was opened by Lt Gen. Dhiraj Seth. The Tata Group company said that all 17 EV charging points are operational.

Lt Gen. Dhiraj Seth — GOC, Delhi said: “This is a unique initial step by Indian Army and Tata Power toward implementation of Government of India’s National Electric Mobility Mission Plan (NEMMP) and Indian Army’s go green initiative.”

The EV chargers will be utilized for charging official and personal electrical vehicles of The Indian Army and the employees at the Delhi Cantonment.

Tata Power revealed that the administration of the Delhi Cantonment has given the space for installing EV charging station in the parking area apart from providing upstream power infrastructure for energizing the fast charging points.

Virendra Goyal — Tata Power Head of EV charging Business Development said: “We are pleased to work with the Indian Army to set up convenient fast charging stations for EV users within the Delhi Cantonment.

“To speed up the transition to clean mobility, we will keep working with like-minded institutions to jointly develop EV charging infrastructure in line with the Government of India’s National Electric Mobility Mission Plan.”
