EnerSys has launched its $16-per-share cash tender offer for Ultralife Corporation, pursuing a $320 million acquisition designed to expand its defence battery and specialised power systems business. The buyer expects $15 million to $20 million in annual cost savings, a significant target relative to Ultralife's existing earnings, while regulatory clearances and shareholder participation remain outstanding.
