GE Vernova (NYSE: GEV) bets $9bn on Trench. Can the returns justify it?
GE Vernova is buying high-voltage equipment specialist Trench Group for US$9 billion while reporting record orders and upgrading its cash-flow guidance. But the acquisition price represents 13 times projected 2028 adjusted EBITDA, raising an important question about how much of the electricity infrastructure boom is already reflected in the deal.
