SB Energy heads for IPO with $439bn backlog and Nvidia committing $3bn
SoftBank-backed SB Energy has filed for a Nasdaq IPO with about $439 billion of contracted backlog and 8.8 GW of data-centre capacity contracted or under construction. Yet none of its data centres is operating today, first-half revenue was only $138.7 million and the company reported a $3.21 billion net loss distorted heavily by OpenAI warrant revaluation. The listing will test how much public investors are prepared to pay today for AI infrastructure cash flows stretching decades into the future.
