Supreme Court hears fresh arguments in Eknath Shinde and Uddhav Thackeray Shiv Sena dispute
More than four years after the Shiv Sena split, its identity remains a live constitutional and electoral dispute. The Supreme Court is examining competing arguments about legislative strength, organisational authority and the Election Commission's decision to recognise Eknath Shinde's faction. The next hearing is scheduled for October 13.
