Salzer Electronics, EMarch to create JV for electric conversion kits

Salzer Electronics said that it will create a joint venture (JV) with EMarch LLP, an Indo-Austrian technology company, for manufacturing electric conversion kits for vehicles.

In this connection, Salzer Electronics will establish a fully-owned subsidiary called Salzer EV Infra. The subsidiary will set up a joint venture called Salzer EMarch E Mobility with EMarch, which has expertise in electric conversion kits and power electronics.

Salzer EMarch E Mobility will be focused on manufacturing electric conversion kits for auto-rickshaws, buses, and cars. Besides, the joint venture will manufacture novel electric driven utility vehicles.

Salzer Electronics will have a 26% stake in the joint venture, while EMarch will have a 22.5% stake. The remaining stake will be owned by other private investors.

The total investment in Salzer EMarch E Mobility will be INR 6 crores, said Salzer Electronics.

Rajesh Doraiswamy – Joint Managing Director of Salzer Electronics said: “Through this JV, Salzer EMarch E Mobility Pvt. Ltd., we would bring affordable electric conversion kits for Auto Rickshaws to the market in the first phase. Going forward, e-Conversion kits will also be produced for Cars & Buses.

“Our manufacturing capabilities would be well complemented by the expertise and technical know-how from the E-March team, to deliver international standard conversion kits for electric auto-rickshaws, cars and buses.”

Earlier this month, Salzer Electronics announced a joint venture called Salzer Kostad EV Chargers with Austria-based Kostad Steuerungsbau for manufacturing DC fast charging stations for electric vehicles. E-March is also a part of the joint venture with a stake of 6%.
