M&G taps Tata Consultancy Services for implementing cloud-only strategy
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) said that it will help London-based savings and investments business M&G to transition into a cloud-only organisation by 2025 under an expanded partnership.
The Indian IT services provider has been a strategic partner to the investment manager for over five years.
Tata Consultancy Services said that the expanded partnership will involve modernizing and streamlining the legacy infrastructure estate of M&G, enabling its exit from on-premise data centres and move to Microsoft Azure with the help of a number of initiatives in technology and business transformation.
Chris Cochrane — M&G Chief Information Technology Officer said: “We are pleased to extend our partnership with TCS, which will allow M&G to transform our infrastructure and achieve our cloud-only strategy – key aspects of our business transformation journey, which ultimately helps us deliver more effectively in helping people manage and grow their savings and investments responsibly.”
By making use of its deep contextual knowledge of the UK-based firm’s IT and business landscape, Tata Consultancy Services will transform M&G’s application estate and embrace modern, cloud-native architectures. This will boost the resilience and stability of key applications to help the investment manager cater to end-customers better and faster, said the Indian IT company.
To help expedite the cloud transformation journey of M&G, Tata Consultancy Services will use cloud deployment methodologies and tools such as TCS Cloud Counsel and TCS Migration Factory.
With the help of its proprietary frameworks, the Indian IT services firm will provide a detailed assessment to M&G of its existing estate, a migration roadmap driven by data, and a specialized DevOps pipeline to shift applications seamlessly to the cloud.
The resulting enhanced agility, insights, and automation throughout the cloud operations will help M&G scale up or down quickly according to business priorities, said Tata Consultancy Services. Besides, the cloud-native and streamlined architecture is anticipated to help the London-based firm boost the experience for all stakeholders, enhance responsiveness, and expedite speed to market.
Siva Ganesan — Tata Consultancy Services Head of Microsoft Business Unit said: “We believe that M&G’s future-ready infrastructure, built by TCS on Microsoft Cloud, will help drive innovation and deliver superior user- and end-customer experience. We are excited to see how M&G’s cloud migration will power its future transformation and growth.”
