TCS to help South American airline Avianca in cloud transformation

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) said that it has been selected by South American airline Avianca as its strategic partner for its cloud transformation journey.

The Indian IT services company will modernize the IT infrastructure of Avianca and develop a new cloud-based digital core on Microsoft Azure that is future-ready.

Tata Consultancy Services said that it will help the airline move 129 core applications to the cloud apart from managing the new cloud estate.

The Indian firm will utilize its proprietary automation tools and accelerators to bring in transformation for Avianca, cutting down the time-to-market, and delivering superior business outcomes. Included in these is a digitized cloud candidature assessment toolset called TCS Cloud Counsel and TCS Cloud Mason which enables organizations in quickly defining, designing and deploying cloud foundational platforms.

Tata Consultancy Services said that the new digital core will provide an integrated environment that is expected to boost the business agility, adaptability, operational resilience, and future-readiness of Avianca. Furthermore, the cloud-based infrastructure from the Indian firm will have a considerably reduced carbon footprint that will help the South American airline get closer towards its sustainability targets.
