Mahindra Group ties up with Google Cloud to drive digital transformation

Indian conglomerate Mahindra Group has entered into a new collaboration with Google Cloud for powering its digital transformation strategy and driving its next phase of business growth.

The Digital, Data and Cloud Center of Excellence of Mahindra Group, which is referred to as Mahindra Digital Engine (MDE), will leverage the advanced data analytics technology and secure and reliable infrastructure of Google Cloud for driving innovation across its various business units, including its key operations, its customer-facing channels, as well as its employee experience.

Besides, the partnership will incorporate an agile culture within Mahindra Digital Engine for promoting innovation, adapting change, and developing capabilities by growing the right talent.

According to Google Cloud, it is helping the Indian conglomerate in advancing its unified data cloud strategy.

Firstly, Mahindra Group will move its business-critical applications such as SAP S/4HANA and others from its on-premises data centers to Google Cloud under the RISE with SAP program, and its data warehouse and data lake as well. This will help teams across the Indian group to get a broader understanding of the demands and preferences of customers.

Furthermore, the migration will aid in predicting trends and consumer sentiments to expedite product innovation and fuel a tailored customer experience through new digital platforms, and streamline complex data management, reduce the total cost of ownership, and enhance security and governance.

The Mahindra Group intends to completely shift its on-premises infrastructure in the next two to three years. Besides, the Indian conglomerate will leverage the engineering capabilities and the best practices of Google Cloud’s Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and Dev SecOps practices, bringing in in-house talent for continuing to scale their technical capabilities to cope with the requirements of its expanding business.
