Essential Amino acids :
Essential amino acids are 9 in number and they are not synthesized in our body, they are obtained through diet, hence they are called as essential amino acids.

- Lysine
- Methionine
- Phenylalanine
- Threonine
- Tryptophan
- Valine
- Histidine
Non-Essential Amino acids :
Non-essential amino acids are 12 in number and they are synthesized in our body, hence called as non essential amino acids.
- Alanine
- Arginine
- Aspartic acid
- Citrulline
- Cystine
- Glutamic acid
- Glutamine
- Glycine
- Hydroxyproline
- Proline
- Serine
- Tyrosine
Histidine is an essential amino acid for only infants, it is a non essential amino acid for adults.
