ITI Limited wins Rs 39bn advance purchase order from BSNL for 4G rollout

ITI Limited has secured an advance purchase order (APO) worth INR 3,889 crores from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), an Indian state-owned telecommunications company, for the implementation of its 4G network.

BSNL has issued an APO to the Indian multi-technology public sector company for the reservation quota (RQ) order specifically in the West Zone.

The project entails comprehensive tasks such as planning, engineering, supply, installation, and commissioning, as well as the annual maintenance contract (AMC) for the 4G mobile network, covering a total of 23,633 sites within BSNL’s West Zone.

The contract includes the AMC for a duration of nine years. The supply period is estimated to be between 18 to 24 months, with a warranty period of 12 months.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has been chosen as the consortium partner for this endeavor.

This APO encompasses the entire scope of work, and the official purchase order will be issued by BSNL Circles operating within the West Zone. As part of the agreement, ITI Limited will be responsible for manufacturing the Radio Access Network (RAN) components.

Previously, ITI Limited deployed 2G and 3G GSM networks (nodes and RAN) for BSNL in West Zone and South Zone.
