ITI Limited, CDOT, and TCIL to advance telecom innovation for smart cities

ITI Limited, in collaboration with Centre for Development of Telematics (CDOT) and Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL), has signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at synergizing R&D efforts in the telecommunications field.

The partnership seeks to establish a framework for cooperation, focusing on the creation and delivery of innovative telecommunication products and related services for smart cities.

Under this cooperation, joint execution of projects that align with the interests of all three parties will take place. Each project will be governed by a separate Project Agreement, with TCIL serving as the Lead Partner, C-DOT as the Technology Partner, and ITI as the Manufacturing Partner. The Project Agreements will outline the work conduct, mutual objectives, responsibilities, payment terms, and other essential aspects.

The collaboration brings together the expertise of C-DOT in research and development, ITI Limited’s cutting-edge manufacturing capabilities, and TCIL’s extensive experience in telecom network installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance, and consultancy services globally. The combined capabilities are expected to facilitate the development and delivery of end-to-end indigenous telecom networks and solutions.

“ITI is excited to join other DOT organizations to manufacture indigenous telecom products that will achieve Aatma Nirbharata in the Indian Telecom Sector. We have the best-in-class manufacturing capabilities, and I am convinced that this MoU will draw upon our collective capabilities to further build the indigenous manufacturing capabilities in India.”

The cooperative program will involve various tasks, including the conceptualization, procurement, supply, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of C-DOT designed products, as well as third-party products as needed for jointly identified projects.

Additionally, the collaboration will focus on marketing and pursuing Smart Cities opportunities both in India and abroad, ensuring technical compliance of products to meet customer requirements, manufacturing and delivery of identified products, and providing necessary repair support.
