Intelsat, one of the world’s largest operators of an integrated satellite and terrestrial network, has teamed up with CNH Industrial (CNHI), known for brands such as Case IH, New Holland, and Steyr, to enhance farm operations in Brazil’s remote areas. This partnership will see the installation of ruggedized multi-orbit satellite terminals on CNH farm equipment, utilizing Intelsat’s global network to revolutionize connectivity on farms.

The collaboration aims to address connectivity challenges in remote farming locations, where traditional communication solutions are often inadequate. Intelsat’s CEO, Dave Wajsgras, stated, “As the first satellite communications company to provide multi-orbit connectivity to farmers around the world, Intelsat’s collaboration with CNH will unlock new capabilities in the most remote locations through our global communications platform.” This initiative is expected to offer unparalleled network reliability, enhanced throughput, and superior user experiences by leveraging terminals that can access multiple satellite orbits.

Set to launch in the third quarter of the year, the project not only aims to transform Brazilian agriculture—which is a significant component of the country’s economy—but also to set a precedent for modern agricultural practices worldwide.

Intelsat has significantly invested in its infrastructure within Brazil to support this initiative. This includes the expansion of its Brazil Network Operations Center (NOC), which now offers enhanced support capabilities in five languages, including Brazilian Portuguese, and operates around the clock. Additionally, with new satellite capacity and a strategically located teleport facility outside of Rio de Janeiro, Intelsat has strengthened its ability to provide reliable and effective connectivity solutions across Latin America.
