In a significant move towards enhancing maternity care, the Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of Infosys, announced its collaboration with the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (). This partnership has given rise to the ‘C-CAMP-Infosys Foundation Project Early Life’, a Department of Biotechnology, Government of India supported initiative aimed at improving care for expectant mothers and newborns in using innovative medical technologies.

The project, unveiled at the Government of Karnataka’s health roundtable titled ‘A new paradigm with CSR and Philanthropy’, chaired by Dinesh Gundu Rao, the Hon’ble Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka, sees Infosys Foundation committing INR 8.5 crore. This investment is targeted at the early adoption of healthcare technology in low-resource health facilities to enhance screening and tackle the increasing neonatal mortality rates.

A key component of this initiative is the deployment of advanced fetal monitoring technology across district hospitals and community health centers in Karnataka. Additionally, the project will introduce a neonatal Continuous Positive Airway Pressure device in critical care newborn units across district and taluk hospitals. This initiative is set to benefit approximately 50,000 to 1 lakh women and 4,000 newborns across eight districts in the state over a four-year period.
