IMCD buys polymers and engineering plastics distributor Tradeimpex Polymers
IMCD, a Dutch distributor of specialty chemicals and ingredients, through its subsidiary IMCD India, will acquire Tradeimpex Polymers (India) for an undisclosed price.
Based in Gurgaon, Tradeimpex Polymers is engaged in the distribution of high-performance polymers and engineering plastics.
Established in 2003, Tradeimpex Polymers distributes products from major international suppliers and primarily serves the needs of the mobility industry in India.
The company employs 24 people and earned a profit of around INR 3,500 million during the fiscal year that ended on 31 March 2022.
Tradeimpex Polymers is said to represent top international suppliers and provides an extensive number of clients with a broad range of products as well as technical and commercial assistance.
Olivier Champault — IMCD Advanced Materials Business Group Director said: “India is a dynamic market, with promising growth prospects, especially in the mobility sector. Tradeimpex is well established in this sector with its professional sales team and high-performance materials sourced from top-tier suppliers.
“Complementary to our current Advanced Materials business, this acquisition will enhance our presence in India and expand our offerings to the customers. The founding team of Tradeimpex will continue to work along with IMCD, post the completion of the transaction.”
The deal, which is subject to customary conditions, is anticipated to close in Q2 2023.
